TFHS

Here is a temporary diary of my time at Lund University School of Aviation or TFHS.

My intention is to post pictures here as well, but in the end a more neat homepage will be created for this diary purpose.

Oh, when it comes to spelling...don't bother - I won't at the moment any way :)

Ok, here goes... (Last day tops):

Thursday 2006-08-31

Started the day very early to prepare my first lesson - a so called "Time Table Navigation". You simply prepare the map with all you need to know, and especially tricky is to measure all the seconds to that church, seconds to that road junction etc. Then, when you fly, you're supposed to follow your seconds-tight schedual all around the track. Very hard and fun to do!! You must try it! After the first flight with my instructror Mats, I prepared another such navigation during late lunch, and flew that second TT Nav an hour ago. First TT nav went ok, but I could have performed better during the "loss of power"-drill Mats threw after the navigation. I found a field, byt was late with the emergency checklist. The second nav I did solo went really well. 10 Seconds too early over the finish line after 40 minutes of struggle :) Tomorrow we're having a fire fighting course at Revingehed. Should be fun!

Tuesday 2006-08-29

No flying for me today due to the others check-rides and certificate tests. Weight and Balance and Operational Procedures mixed with shopping, modell-sim practise and gym session has been the day so far. Oh, last Friday, an "never thought I'd see" thing happened :).

Saturday 2006-08-26

Marvellous! Me and Micki went to Kristianstad airport for their air show 2006. Awesome opening by the French Mirage 2000 blasting over the sky in a most radical aerobatic display. AAAWESOME :) Then, I'm proude to announce the Swedish SAAB Griffin two seater also ruling (Seemed to make steeper turns actually, but less bizzare manouvres in general than the Mirage). After that very much more. Don't have time right now to wright about it, but you can see some pics from the event here.

Tuesday 2006-08-15

What a day! I flew from Ljungbyhed to Jonkoping with a touch and go in Halmstad. The weather was really shitty from time to time. Jannis flew back from Jonkoping via Vaxjo, even worse weather. I could count the needles on the pine trees in Smaaland :). Whole evening been planning a 5-leg flight for tomorrow. Pictures from the flight can be seen here.

Monday 2006-08-14

This is the start of the third week after the vacation. Things have been hectic during the flying-weeks with flight planning, but the theory has offerd a smooth start with not that much to cope with...yet. This particular morning offered an early morning checking weather to update the flightplan towards Jonkoping. I got a wrong start with tiny headache and over all tiredness. The trip was canceled due to low clouds. Instead I got to fly an "short field" excersise in the some what bumpy wind. Went OK I guess thingking it was the first time, but speed and altitude holding was crap and I felt out of the loop from time to time >: Now, extensive logg-booking of the flight

VACATION

Had three very good and very hectic weeks at my place in July. See this.

Wednesday 2006-05-31

WOW, been a while! Well, as thet say: "When the tough get going, the goings get tough!" Exams comming in as a storm. After solo flights after last entry, We've had two flights every day during fly-weeks. Makes the theory catch-ups much harder to perform. Here are some of the latest pictures from Solo flights and more. Here you'll see this week.

Monday 2006-05-15

Great weekend! Mum was here, and we did all sorts of fun stuff: Lunch at famous "Spangen Inn", Skaralid with all the beech-trees just gotten foilage, Flying with Jycke topped off with the Swedish Air force aerobatic team taking of in formation just infront of the flight club, Coffe at "Lotta's pa Asen", F5-walkabout, Lunch at the beach at Angelholm and Eneskogen. Today I've just had a flying lession practising Precasionary landings and some emergency practise - went well. Beautiful weather. Latest pictures HERE.

Friday 2006-05-05

A perfect day so far. No clouds, kinda warm and a good flying lesson. A navigaion flight around the vicinity of the airport for about 40 minutes. Then in to do a few touch and goes. Mostly "well done" but a few things to improve like keep an eye on airspeed not beeing to high on final and also not to over-do navigation - "just use the pap, kid!" Last day's pictures can be seen here. Going to Soderbarke tonight. Hoping for a Jumpseat again - we'll see about that!

Thursday 2006-05-04

Days just fly by, but on the ground mostly so far for me *sobbing*. Missed a nice flight to and back from Roskilde (EKRK) yesterday due to a misshap with fuel quantities - full tanks resulted in me giving too mych landing mass. Meterology studies instead with a :(-face. Today, on the other hand, I got a really cool flight lesson with Rocker Rickard with aborted takeoff, go arounds, a swift Billinge to "Straight in from Astorp" followed by more Touch and goes flappless and finnaly a wing slide final from way too high - WOW did that go fast. Real ground rush compared to what I'm used too! Last two weeks also offered some Safir flying and other stuff you can see here.

Friday 2006-04-21

Meterology during the day topped off with an exam in technical knowledge of the Cirrus SR20 and operational procedures. The test was meant to grant us the right for the first TFHS-solo-fligt that is comming within a couple of weeks. THAT means mustach OFF :I) Here are some of the latest pictures.

2006-04-06 to 20th

Wow, been rather sloppy with updating this diary lately. Easter came in between with good feed all weekend. Took my car up to my house for summer tyre change. Of course, the thing was very close to loss of all traction due to what I suspect to be a faulty drive shaft joint. Also, one shock absorber has seased, so even the lightest paint marking in the street make the whole car rock. Any way, progresstests in both Meterology and Navigation is now done with a pass. Two interesting presentations in two days from our Accountable Manager and a former TFHS student, who now works for SAS - Will be applying to them :) This comming weekend will be very much AirLaw and technical course of the Cirrus. Oh, summer's here, cause now I've taken my RC plane here so I can fly with it in the evenings. Real- and radio controlled flying, what more can a pilot want? Pics to come tomorrow.

Wednesday 2006-04-05

The morning started rather gloomy with low clouds and mist. All flying was canceled and we all got a training session on the Garmin GNS 430. We also did a fake flight from Ljungbyhed to Malmo Sturup with toys on a map, just to practise radio communication. Later on that evening I don't remember what I did...was in my room fiddling with stuff and, yeah chatted to Maddie in New Zealand amongst things.

Tuesday 2006-04-04

Low cloude base today. Only studenst practising landings got to fly. I'm supposed to practise emergency landings procedures at suitable paddocs or fields. For this, at least 2000 ft cloude base is needed... More Human performance and chatting with folks. WOW, got actually to fly today between all the hail storms and rain. Cool stuff, but I'm not satisified with my pilot-performance today. Way too inexperianced with the Cirrus still. Feels like I can't open the door to get out still >: Evening was badminton an planning a short navigation for tomorrow.

Monday 2006-04-03

Flying week. Murky weather kept me on ground today :( Beem reading some Air Law and Human Performance instead. Fetchend Jannis, Mange and Emelie at Angelholm airport in the evening.

Friday 2006-03-31

Eraly start with some meterology. Then computer based training. After that. jumpseat in an Boeing 737 on my way to Arlanda for a weekend with Micki and Mum.

Thursday 2006-03-30

Meterology. Very good lecture and interesting things about adiabatic laps rates. Then indoor foot ball practise with our teacher Peter. Some studies toninght, and a yackie pizza :P

Wednesday 2006-03-29

Human performance this morning. Eyes and ears all through. After lunch, we went to Klippan swimming hall for another crawl-lesson with Peter. Starting to get a hang of it, but the breathing, the breathin...

Tuesday 2006-03-28

Slept in this morning, then two sessions of Navigation. "Time"-related problems this time. www.analemma.com reveales some quite ineresting heavenly body effects I was unaware of. Lars forced me to run 6 km in 27 minutes in the arvo - felt good...afterwards :). Studies all night.

Monday 2006-03-27

Very misty day, and now it rains a lot! Been studying, been to the gym and then, Lars showed med this hillarious MUST SEE filmclip.

Friday-Sunday 2006-03-24 to 26

A mix of studies, film, excersise, X-planing and a net session of combat with Gustaf.

Friday-Sunday 2006-03-24 to 56

A mix of studies, film, excersise, X-planing and a net session of combat with Gustaf.

Thursday 2006-03-23

YES! magnificent weather. Me and Mats took off 0930 UTC and I steered our way out via Stenestad and then straight for practise area VIK between Helsinborg and Skaldeviken. Climbed to 5000 ft and begun stall practise. A bit more violent than I'm used to in the Cherokee. One time I was over 90 degrees banked and VERY nose down. The excersises went very well and we topped of with a dive reaching 190 kt (360 km/h) Steady as a rock. Back to ESTL via Stenestad and an ok landning rw 29L. Now, long briefing and gym awaits.

Wednesday 2006-03-22

The morning weather briefing gave us a bit dodgy weather. Technical course for two hours, then up and away...BUT Mats called and said that I was grounded due to technical problems with our designated Cirrus - DOH! And the clouds were so nice! Lars said he took some nice pictures any way. I walked back and studied Navigation for a few hours, then Long briefing. After that gym and taco-dinner with Lars. Then some hard core X-plane:ing. My goal was to craft a Avidyne based cockpit (avidyne is the brand of the primary flight display in our Cirruses.) Unfortunately, X-plane seem to have a bug, cause the trapetzoid (skid/slip indicator) goes the wrong direction >: MERDE!!

Tuesday 2006-03-21

Today the whole of 06:1 had a fictive crash investigation, where we was divided into three groups, got a room with a phone. After that we acted crash investigators aftera made up case. Interesting much. Only bad thing was that we missed a perfect CAVOK fly-day!

Monday 2006-03-20

Briefing at 0745. Then I went off with my teacher Mats to do some power off landings. Went ok. Again, another airplane makes it a bit tricky in the beginning, but I think I got the hang of it. The Cirrus is rather sensitive to speed, so I have to watch out the front window to check attitude more than in a PA-28. As Mats stated: The runway won't move around, but your speed will, thus look mostly forward to monitor your flight path. Clever! After flight we had a long briefing and then I went jogging with Anna followed by a qucik gym session.

Friday 2006-03-17

AirLaw in the morning. Then I went to Stockholm to celebrate Micki's 30 years birthday with her family and friends.

Thursday 2006-03-16

First Human Performance and Limitations lesson under ATPL. Seem a lot more OK as a subject than during PPL, cause now it seem to be more thorough. After that, Airlaw and then ANOTHER swimming session in Klippan. Tired again!

Wednesday 2006-03-15

This day was strange. Morning was self studies, Then our Air Law teacher was sick, so the physics class was moved to earlier. We went swimming with our instructor for one hour. I'M SO TIRED now! Jocke and I have solved Navigation problems on and off during the day. Oh, also handed in my Golf for repairs and the Flight technician high school here at the airport. Quite convenient :)

Tuesday 2006-03-14

Micki 30 years :) First theroy day for us this week. The weather is still great, so blue team will get a really nice day of flying. We have had our first Navigation class - kinda messy with all dlat, dlong, mlat etc etc. Quite logic once you think GLOBE :). Today I went out running to save my shoulder, which got a bit sore after gym last night.

Moday 2006-03-13

After some uncertanty about wether I got to fly or not today, eventually I got a slot time due to that a mate was still ill and couldn't fly. Of course, I discovered that one of the enginges exthaust pipes on our plane was loose, so the flight was canceled. Merde! I was really looking forwar to some power off approaches. Went to the gym after that and studies some meterology.

Tuesday to Sunday 2006-03-07 to 12

Tuesday was theory for the comming flying days this week.

Wednesday gave me my first real flying lesson. Me and my instructor Mats went out via Astorp and flew south doing the general flying thing as climb, decent, turns and flying slow. My landing was a bit too slow and I flared too high, which resulted in a last second TLC from Mats.

Thursday was flying again, this time after sitting in the cockpit in an hangared Cirrus practising the check list procedure. Then I was off with another instructor, Magnus who is doing his practise lessons here at TFHS. I did 8 touch and goes, and it went above my expectations. Just to get to know the instruments and feeling of the Cirrus and all felt really swell.

Friday was a no fly day for me as there was a shortage of planes. I red some Meterology and and later that night Micki came down here to Ljungbyhed to visit -GREAT :) (improvised decision late Thursday eve). In the evening we (class 06:1) threw a thanx H-party for the class 05:1 - it was a blast!

Saturday me and Micki went with Joakim and Cornelia to the "copper hat", which is a steep canyon-hill in Soderasen. Very pretty, but cold. Will be a dream duing spring time. Also, we made a bond fire and incinerated sausages. That night was with dinner at Jocke's and then Eurovision song constest - national run up, followed by Red Dragon *shiver*

Sunday was another AWESOME day that started with a flight piloted by Jocke with Micki as co pilot and Karsten sharing back seat with me. This time in the Ljungbyhed flight club's Dimond Star DA40 (high quality Austria designed and built fibre composite craft whith nice characteristics) Kullahalvon this time too, with better visibility and air. Now I just found out that I might get to fly tomorrow despite told not to - a class mate Micke might still have a "non flyable" cold.

Pics from the last 7 days.

Pics from the first Micki visit and some flying.

Monday 2006-03-06

First day of ATPL theory. Meterology all day with our nice former air foce meterologist. He seem very competent. After that, swift shopping, Gym, studies for the week's flying and later on a program about Ryan Air and their routines. Topped of with short chats with Micki and Mum.

Wednesday 2006-02-29

Class meeting about the spilt in two halves for flying. I guess we all came to an agreement even though it's never gonna be perfect. Me - I'm here to FLY no matter with whom :). After a short air combat with Jocke I went to Angelholm airport and flew home for the weekend while the others took thir PPL exams form the National Air Department.

Tuesday 2006-02-28

So, the day that I didn't dare to dream about before finally came. I got my first flight on TFHS-wings. Our Head of Class took me on a breifing flight to Hoganas. I got the controls for a few minutes on the way there to get a feel of the Cirrus RS20 - VERY comfie place, and the instrumentation, "oh dear" it was great! EFIS, PFD, two Garmin 420 and and transponder giving "sky watch", BIG moving map etc etc. Only thing that was a bit odd was the rather hard to move stick and the spring loding built in it - hard to know what's fighting my input. springs, wind, teacher? The really neat counter part to the hard stick is the nice thumb hat switch for pitch and roll-trim. This quite bumpy flight today (gusty winds) was my 100th :) Here are some pics of Joakim arriving just before my turn. After this I was fiddling with my computers and then Gym after fast supper.

Monday 2006-02-27

Long briefing 0745 for the non-PPL students. Went along to check how that was. General flight briefing with weather report and map-checking. This first flight is rather simple where the student is in the right front seat - that is where the co-pilot sits. Then more combat training with MS combat :) Our Norweigan pal Lars is way to skilled - he must be shoot down more frequently. Then I went to the gym - seems like my cold got the final blow there, hehe.

Sunday 2006-02-26

Easy start. After breckie I studied the checklist for the Cirrus. Then I took a stroll along one of the active runways here at the airport. First I had to pass the dangerous and land scape dominant golf coruse, where some maniachs where actually playing along with red balls in the snow... Survigning that rendered some pictures. Now it's Olympics final in ice hockey. After that more Combat training with Lars and Jocke. Emelie has complemented yesterday's socializing pictures..

Saturday 2006-02-25

Damn, got a cold it seem. Been fixing the Operations Manual updates. Then Johan GS dropped by with his daughter Felicia from Malmo. Really nice to have them here. After coffee I showed them around the facilities. Then Lars and I went for some more combat action. The evening was spent at the local pizzeria and kareokee club "Yanni's" - it was ok. Socializing pictures from the week.

That mustach is really taking over!

Friday 2006-02-24

Aaaah, THAT was my kinda day. Despite the light cold when I woke up, a trip to Klippan to check Sven's old grounds where he grew up. Got a hair cut and then back to Ljunghusen for some serious air combat over the pasific ocean in MS Combat Sim. Of course, my scanner updated me with the latest approaches over my head! Me and Lars crashed into each other head to head leaning on the gun-trigger like all the time - two minds equally mad :D. Watched "MŸnchen" after that. Looong movie.

Scanner and one of the PA-31 on short final runway Two Niner Left.

Thursday 2006-02-23

0800-1600 PPL school exams. Went very well - rised my over all score a bit since I did it "for real" two years ago. After that a gym session with Lars. Do I feel a cold creaping up? Topped the day off with some drinks in nothers wing with in Pierre's room accompanied by Lars, Emelie, Micke, Gustaf, Johan and Jon.

Wednesday 2006-02-22

Finished all 1000 questions - should be all right tomorrow. Eary bedtime after some chatting with Mum and Micki.

Tuesday 2006-02-21

1000 questions all day with a short break for lessons. Roumour has it that we'll start flying next week. Don't performe any rain dances, ok!

Monday 2006-02-20

Started with some "1000 questions". Then fetched some printer inc and a printer (imagine: cheaper to buy a new printer with inc than just inc!). Then more studies and short NAV-lesson in the arvo. Ran for 30 minutes with NIO and then more studies combined with pickin up Anna at Angelholm. Now fetching laundary.

Thursday 2006-02-15

Half day. Friday off, so I went home to surprise Micki in the evening! Friday meant going to Soderbarke - was great, apart from that my water pipes in the little house has frozen - hope the pipes won't burst...I'll find out in two weeks :I

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesdat, 2006-02-12 to 14

Final week befor the exams for PPL starts. I feel the tension building up :) Starting to read more every day now. Feels like it's gonna be tight after all - time seem to slip away awfully quick in dream time. [I'd like to use that Aboriginal name of prehistoric traditional times with all the respect it holds. Here it is my definition of my time here at TFHS :) ]

Sunday 2006-02-12

After breakie I drove to Loddekopinge and bought some stuff and washed my car. Then I've been mostly in my room trying to study the last of Human Performance and Limitations. I got the link to one of my class mate's homepage. Micke has taken these pictures so far.

Saturday 2006-02-11

Aaah, my kinda start of the day! Had breakfast in my room having one of my class mates, Joakim, zooming past on short finals in his flight club's Piper Archer when he did his three mandatory brush-up touch and goes before taking passengers. Yes, that's right, ME, Lars and Lars's girfriend Anne-Siri tagget Joakim alog for one hour over Kullenhalvon, Hoganas, Helsingborg and Landskrona. It was very good weather and very good pilot in command. After that I went food collecting and studied Performance with Torbjorn. The rest of the evening was cooking and creaming Human Performance and Limitations. Now BED TIME!

My room with a view :)

Friday 2006-02-10

Hm, time is scarse and I will be less detailed. More groupe thingie studies today.

Thursday 2006-02-09

More UGL, nuttin extraordinary. Went to the gym after class.

Wednesday 2006-02-08

Hm, didn't have time for X-plane yesteray unfortunately. Amazing how fast time goes here! Skipped gym since the class meeting took so long. Uniform and cool class clothing on the agenda. Now, I'm into human limitation studies here.

Tuesday 2006-02-07

More discussions. Did tests that matched quite well my self image - Cool. Then Gym with Joakim. Henrik and Magnus joined short after. They probably moved 10 times more per person in my time at the gym - damn I'm getting old ;) Then feed. Hmm, starting to feel a certain regularity in my life :) Tonight I'll be reading through the day's doings and write a log on that. Then reading about Boeing Dreamliner v.s. Airbus 380. Topping it off with X-PLANE :D

Monday 2006-02-06

This week my group (the TFHS class 06:1 is spit into two halfs) started our "UGL" week. It's a "Development Groupe Leadership" course that is said to be very good. We're sitting in a nice venue discussing our selfes, others and the group dynamics developing over time. After that day, which went fast, I went to the usual gym session and then dinner. Whoop - day's over!!

Friday 2006-02-03

HALF DAY! AGK and ALW. After that a swift lunch and then off to Angelholm and the flight to Stockholm/Arlanda. I managed to speak my way into a jump seat (that is to use the tiny seat on flight dec with the pilots.) The machine was a converted DC9 called MD82 after that upgrade. Apparently they changed the engines and instruments. HERE you can se some in flight pictures and low res movie from the landning. The crew was very professional and eager to answer and explain all my enqueries. Then class mate Anna and her boyfriend drove me to Rinkeby where I met up with Micki and Mum - Wohoo :) Soderbarke, here we come!

Order restored

Thursday 2006-02-02

Today we had four hours of Principle of Flight where quite deep discussions about "adverse jaw" and wehter the cirrus got slaved rudder to aeilerons or not... mucho moumbo jumbo for flight-fanatics as you can hear :). After lunch we had Human Performance and Limitations - more deep discussions about eye sight correction via plastic surgery(!) and wether the ciliar muscle really goes out through the "tendon membrane"(freely translated) or not. Then I went to the gym after securing a seat departing early after lunch tomorrow for Stockholm direct connect to Soderbarke via Arlanda. Will be very nie to see Micki and mum again!

Wednesday 2006-02-01

Heaps of Aircraft General Knowledge today. Still remember things there too :) Then compass session at General Navigation. After that badminton with instructor - went well. Good to skip the scabby gym one night. Then I took my car for a battery recharge spinn to the food store - yum. Some Principle of Flight and Human Performance and Limitation studies. No iChat with Micki today :( Got hold of mum though :) Now a session of spin-practise in X-plane, then bed Zzzzz.

Got my butt in gear and launhed some first pictures. They are rather small - bigger ones in the pipe later.

Tueday 2006-01-31

Navigation practising the NAV-computer skill - still got it :) Meterology and then early deparure from school straight into the gym for another more intense session - felt good. As usual, the evening zoomed by and then ot was night...

Monday 2006-01-30

Slept in till 0830 - aaah. After that Operational procedures and Navigation topped of with some Flight Planning and Monitoring. Called the student card firm - still nothing about me despite the fact that I was reported last week. My doubble name messed their computer system up, so my ID number was lost in cyber space - thank you!! Gym as usual in the evening.

Sunday 2006-01-29

Went to visit some mates at the local flight club and snapped up some interesting conversations with the senior piltos there flying the SAAB Safir etc. Pretty good prices there to school aerobatics - will hopefully afford that in a year!

Saturday 2006-01-28

Kinda slow day. Fiddling a bit with studies, chatted much with Micki and Mum. Then of course, tonnes of X-plane studies :) They gotten the 3D flight deck pretty nice now!!

Friday 2006-01-27

GENERAL Aircraft Knowledge woke us up thourogly this morning. In between those excersises we hade some Flight Planning and Monitorign (learning to handle the Pilot Operating Handbook to find out "how long landing distance is needed at this temperateure and height over sea level" etc).

Then I went to Malmš and visides Johan GS and his family for supper. YUMMIE!!! Stuffed lamb stake with all that comes with it! VERY good for a student stomache :) Thanx for that lovley evening! Also, Malmš seem to be a very nice place after all, didn't seem so prehistoric as Stockholm appears to me.

On the way home I experienced the frozen fog conditions said to be usual for this part of Sweden during the winter months - driving around in milk that becomes ice cream as soon a my windscreen touch it.

Thursday 2006-01-26

Started the day with the traditinal glass of milk accompanied by four sanwiches with ham and messmoer- yum. After that we all sat up in two cars and a small bus and drove around the Ljungbyged Control Zone and checked the most common way pionts for flying in and out from the airports. Here there are LOTS of churces that you can navigate bt. After lunch we had Physics -THAT was really over expectation. Our teacher is a former fighter pilot, Physics teacher and instructor for the airforce. We're gonna learn all from human body to how to eat propperly. Also, we're supposed to try on and learn swimming, some diving, all racket sports, usual ball based sports, skiing, windsurfing, trampoline. All this combined with the latest in cardio excersice science - this is exactly what my bent CAD-arse needs :D

Oh, finally I got iChat to work flawlessly (thax IT-Lantz). Now I can have a full duplex video conversaton AND surf, email etc at the same time without my old mac chokign. Skype does not allow that to happen - not well mac-optimized I recon!

Wednesday 2006-01-25

Good, a little residue pay check from work, will delute this months payments a bit. Still kinda jumpy - don't have a feel for how much i consume every month. Otherwise we had Operational Procedures and Principle of Flight this day.

Tuesday 2006-01-24

Air law and Human Performance and Limitations. Starting to realise I spend my days with things I've always stressed to be able to sniff on... this i paradise :)

Monday 2006-01-23

First meterology lesson. Old stuff for me that was. No doubt a rehersal is in order though - sooo many details that has to be brushed up in my knowledge about weather. Went to the gym after school - DAMN I'm rusty! Then home to cook a huge batch for comming suppers this week to come.

Sunday 2006-01-22

Walked around in the sun, took some photoes. Basically got to know the area a bit.

Saturday 2006-01-21

VERY slow day for many of us. Did check some of the course litterature. Mostly socialising with the lot.

Friday 2006-01-20

Started off at school 0730. In the afternoon there was a strange course, "Instrument knowledge". After asking around about it I was told it's a school course just to prepare us for the flying comming.

That course showed to be a prank all thorough - Theory teacher talked about CD plauers and "In Flight Entertainment Systems" etc. Of course it was all a prank - and it was filmed with canded camera :) That night was a real kick off for us new commers. Dinner with festivities and a contract signing regarding facial hair was conducted...

Thursday 2006-01-19

1100 hours, photograhy of all students in my class. Everyone arrived. Very nice bunch. All from Submarine officers and young road racing competitors to scabby old engineers (myself).

Then an intro seminare where we got information about the school and all.

Did my final unpacking of stuff - starting to feel like a functioning home.

Wednesday 2006-01-18

Jumped up out of bed and threw myself into abdominal excersise followed by breakfast. Slept amazingly well considering I was entering a life-time dream even when I was awake.

Tuesday 2006-01-17

Started packing my car at 0600 - should not take longer than half an hour, suuure! 0715, departure for Ljungbyhed- YES!

My car was so packed I was worried that it either would broke down or the police would dislike my journey, or even worse, both.

All went well and after seven hours drivning with three minor stops I steered my tired car thorugh the gates of the former swedish air force base and one of the worlds oldest airprorts still in use. Imagine my smile!

My home for the next 20 months are "Ljunghusen" - quite high standard student home packed with very nice people (I didn't even get to unload my car myself... :) )

Spent the evening unpacking, getting an internet connection, socialising with my newfound aviator-friends. Danish Karsten and Norweigan Lars was the first class mates I met. They live in my corridor. We're just five students in my class living in Ljunghusen at the momoent. The rest will move to our wing in March, when an older class moves out after examination.
